STREAMING FAQs

How fast does my Internet connection need to be for streaming movies and TV shows?
We recommend at least 25 – 40 Megabits per second for best experience across all different streaming services. The great news is that our basic package starts at 100 Mbps. If you plan to stream on multiple devices at the same time, you may want to consider upgrading to a higher speed, like those found in our Gold or Platinum packages.
How many gigs of data do I need to watch streaming TV?
With DreamFiber Homes, you don’t have to worry about data limits!
Can I watch “regular TV “ through streaming services?
If by “regular TV” you mean network TV, local or national news, or live sports, the answer is absolutely yes, you can watch regular TV through streaming services. There are multiple streaming services that include live TV and local programming. Use our MyBundleTV tool to find the one right for you.
Do I need a Smart TV to watch streaming TV?
Smart TVs can connect to the Internet directly to access and stream content from it. But, you don’t need a Smart TV to stream your TV. You can use a streaming media player like a Roku that’s hooked up to any TV with an HDMI port to watch streaming TV.
Can I record streaming TV?
Yes. Many streaming services that also stream live TV come with DVR options to record your content.
How much does it cost to watch Streaming TV?
It depends. In some cases, you may need to buy a streaming device, which can cost in the $20-$50 range, depending on which device you purchase. Streaming services also vary in price from free to $55/month. Often, our customers find that streaming TV costs them less than cable TV or satellite TV.
